About
The International Family Therapy Association (IFTA) was founded in 1987 at the end of the East-West Family Therapy Bridging Conference in Prague.    Therapists at the Conference were so exciting about the magnificent opportunities for face-to-face sharing of ideas, accelerated learning, and networking with colleagues and leaders in the field of family therapy from various parts of the globe, they spontaneously agreed to hold another congress the next year.  So began the World Family Therapy Congresses and the birth of IFTA.
